Gennady Yu. Gor

Scientific interests: see Nucleation and Thermodynamics and kinetics of phase transitions.

Gennady Yu. Gor studied at the Department of Statistical Physics of the Faculty of Physics of St. Petersburg state university since 1999 till 2006. During these years he worked under scientific supervision of Professor A. P. Grinin. In January 2006, Gennady Gor received his master's degree specializing in "Theoretical and mathematical physics". After that he began his postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Physics of St. Petersburg state university, where he has been studying up to the present moment. Gennady Gor is currently working on his PhD thesis "Regularities of nonisothermal growth of liquid droplets in vapor-gas medium and of isothermal growth of gas bubbles in gas-liquid solution" under scientific supervision of Professor F. M. Kuni.

The area of scientific interest of Gennady Gor is connected with research of transport phenomena during the growth of new phase particles at phase transitions (see Thermodynamics and kinetics of phase transitions). The results of G. Gor’s work are reflected in 17 publications; they have been presented at a number of conferences, including international ones.

Since 2002 till 2006, Gennady Gor worked as a teacher of Physics: first at school # 224, and then at the physico-mathematical lyceum # 30. Since 2006 and up to the present moment Gennady Gor has been giving a lecture course "Kinetics of First Order Phase Transitions" for the 5th year students of the Department of Statistical Physics.

Since 2007 Gennady Gor has been working as a junior research fellow at the Laboratory of methods and precision instruments for immune and genetic analysis of the Institute for Analytical Instrumentation of the Russian Academy of Science. His responsibility is mathematical processing of instrumental data obtained at the conduction of polymerase chain reaction (PCR) in real time.

Gennady Gor is a multiple winner and grant receiver of the annual contest of St. Petersburg city administration for students and PhD students, the winner of the annual contest of PhD students’ scholarships of the K. I. Zamaraev Foundation
