The history of our department.
The department of statistical physics of
Saint-Petersburg State University
was founded in 1936 by the Corresponding Member of the Academy of Science
professor Yu. A. Krutkov. The staff of the new department wasn't very imposing,
it consisted of young men. Nevertheless meny of them became noted scientists, for
example A.I. Anselm, M.G. Veselov, V.G. Nevzglyadov. Unfortunatelly the
department was broken up before the true fuctioning
as a result of excessive activity of State machinery
in our culture, science and life. The renaissance was only in 1975 due to professor's
efforts. The following 20 years
as professor Kuni was the head of the department he was successful in a creation
of a team of professionals in science as for as in teaching.
