"Magnetic structure of
Cr overlayers on Fe taking into account roughness and interdiffusion"
Summary
Project aimed to propose a theory for the calculation of the electronic
and magnetic structure of low-dimensional Fe/Cr systems with interface
roughness and interdiffusion. The theoretical description is performed
within the framework of a model Hamiltonian approach. It includes
self-consistent calculations of magnetic moments in the Periodic
Anderson Model (PAM) by the real space recursion method in the mean
field approximation. Theory allows to calculate the non-collinear
magnetic structures around interface defects and to build element
specific distribution of magnetic moments in the interface region
Results of experimental investigations of Cr overlayers on Fe surfaces
by magnetic linear dichroism in the angular distribution and spin
resolved core level photoemission have been interpreted on the basis
of calculations performed.
